The Divine Miss M

"I love to laugh. If I can't laugh, I feel like I'm dead."
-Bette Midler

That is me to a T.

Later: TGIO - Thank God, It's Over. We survived International Hijack (Oooh, maybe we should call it Blogjack!) Day. Nathan has a good summary here. We all survived, mostly because if we became too confused, we could always back away slowly, avoiding eye contact, until it was over.

And now back to your regularly scheduled program.

I like to smile. I smile so much our security people at the hospital kid me about smiling.

When people who have to be as serious as they do kid you about your smile, you're doing something right.

TGIO, indeed. I really enjoyed it. And no problems! Further proof that we're a hellofa fine bunch!

And specific thanks to you, Anne.

In a soul bearing conversation I had with my wife a few weeks back (sparked by a pre-midlife crisis... I'm too young for a real one), I figured out that my ultimate goal in life is to make people smile.

It sounded so simplistic, and so dumb -- but really, that's what I want to do in my life. The methods may change, the circle of influence might change, but ultimately, I just want to make people smile.

Bette was on to something. :)

Shawn, you make us smile.

See there? Pre-mid-life crisis avoided.

I've joined the ranks of cute fluffy bunnies, puppy kisses, hard liqueur, and gastronomical distress in babies. :)

w00t! (and that made me smile, so I guess that's a double win)

Keep Smiling - Makes them wonder whether you are happy or planning their demise.

Heh, Stacey. I like that one, particularly after an OAC meeting...

Shawn, you definitely succeed in making all of us smile, so that's half a dozen right there!

I agree re: Shawn, but it's no longer Shawn appreciation day. ;)

I would say that making people smile is preferable to making them cry - but making them THINK is the most important thing.

I'm a fan of that clue-by-four that MWT talks about.
