Gas companies

As much as I hate to admit it, I think this guy's right:
Stop whining; ExxonMobil is doing its job
I mainly agree because higher gas prices is the only thing that will change consumer habits. And those who support a capitalist society shouldn't complain when it turns out to sometimes be not so great for them.

Thanks for posting this link Anne, I found his review somehow liberating ... putting the finger of blame back where it belongs, on consumers and shareholders! As long as we (consumers) guzzle oil and buy cars with low mpg ratings, then we can't whinge too loudly. And as long as they (publc companies) are expected to measure success in ONLY monetary terms, then we get the capitalism we deserve.

When we start judging the actions of individuals and companies by a range of indicators (social, environmental, and commercial); only then will we have the nice place to live that we dream about.
