Someone lent me the first season of the TV show
"Heroes" and now, I'm hooked. It's a very interesting show. It's got twists and turns and linkages that are really cool. The acting is dang decent too. I really like that besides the "token black person" or "token Asian person," shows are starting to have token Indians or token Arabs. One of these days, we'll be able to take the "token" off the front and not think it's such a remarkable thing to have a diverse cast. Sorry about the rant. One of my favorite characters is a Japanese guy named Hiro. He is so wonderfully enthusiastic and earnest. I even like the cheerleader. I thought I wouldn't but the writing and the actress do a great job of making her multi-dimensional. It's just a darn good show and the fact that it is good AND popular says something good about the TV watching public. "Good writing, it's not just on PBS anymore."
Oh, and I just saw this wonderful quote on the bottom of an advertisement for a local spa:
"Live with intention. Walk to the edge. Listen hard. Practice wellness. Play with abandon. Laugh. Choose with no regret. Appreciate your friends. Continue to learn. Do what you love. Live as if this is all there is."
- Mary Anne Radmacher
Cool, huh?

I tried to watch the first season of Heroes. I say tried because the time it showed kept skipping around and then they would have repeats of old ones and then a skip to a completely new one (at least that is what it seemed to me). In any case, I finally stopped trying because the story line was so hard to follow in that way (it always ended in a "cliff hanger").
I agree that the acting was/is excellent. I was annoyed at the typical superhero angst they always have to invoke. (That dope who kept seeing himself blowing up the city-New York? Probably-and kept on doing what was taking him inevitably to doing that very thing... gah!).
My favorite was Hiro as well!
I love the quote Anne! Really love it ... might have to tattoo that on the inside of my left eyelid =)
We just got the season 1 set, too, and if you want to read some fun behind-the-scenes commentary and see some fun pics, check out Greg Beeman's production blog, Beaming Beeman, at http://gregbeeman.blogspot.com).
He's a co-producer/director on the show, so he has some good insider info about it. Be warned, there are Season 2 spoilers up on the site already.
Thanks, voy. I'll have to check it out once I've caught up with the current season.
