No Go

This morning, I had a peculiar experience. My alarm went off at the time I usually get up to go to the gym. I was awake, but I could not get myself to get up. The reason was not that I was avoiding the gym, but rather that I wanted to avoid the rest of the day (going to work, mostly). I had this feeling that if I could avoid starting the day, I could successfully avoid the day entirely. I think other people, particularly the extremely depressed experience this a lot, but it's the first time I've recognized it as avoidance of the work day. (That's not to say I haven't ever slept in because I went to bed late or skipped the gym because I was lazy. I just don't normally think of work as something to avoid.)
Well, time to get up and go directly to work!

ETA: Except now I have a purring cat on my lap. Now I'll have to sit here a while longer. Oh, the horror...

Hmmm! Reluctance to go to work. Not a good sign!

True, not a good sign. But we all go through it now and again . . . it's when it happens everyday for a month that you have to get really worried.

Its a good sign therein lies a good healthy spirit of on-conformity. Better watch out you could turn into a real rebel

Those avoidance days occur particularly on days when I know its going to be really busy and long, i.e. parent teacher conferences...day starts at 7:30 am and ends 8:30 pm, no time to leave for dinner so you must order out.
Full moon days is another time to avoid school. Teenagers are crazy during those few days...Now its homecoming week....AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
Have fun and it will be okay.

Heh heh, just as long as you don't have one of those work avoidance YEARS like me (I am not complaining tho because I'm a non-conformist rebel like ElPadre) :-D
