They are not actually on the table. I put the flowers on the floor in a beam of sunlight and the cats came to investigate. They are not allowed on the table or the counter. They are, however, allowed on other raised surfaces, such as my desk, particularly right in front of the monitor. :)
Well, they get a free pass when I'm not in the house, 'cause how exactly am I going to enforce that? But they do know what I want and generally do it. Plus, they're not really all that mischievous. Very occasionally they'll jump up, but almost as an accidental thing, like they forgot for a moment.
The funny thing is, in order to sit in the kitchen window, they *have* to jump up briefly on the counter. So, occasionally, I'll catch them doing that, and have seem them look alarmed/guilty, but I let it go as a gray area.

You're welcome!
I figured you'd enjoy the photo with the cats investigating. ;)
If it were my hours, the cats would be *snacking*
When I move the plants back inside for the winter, they both go crazy for the new giant kitty salad bar.
(sigh)
Da Boyz seem pleased! What a sweet thing to do, Michelle! I love random acts of sweetness! :-)
What a great friend! Those are so pretty!!! ;) And I'm glad I'm not the only one who has a cat that likes to get on the table to smell my flowers!

Wait. You can keep the cats off the tables and counters?
We can only keep them off the tables and counters of the room we're currently in.

It's a bit strange, but it works for us.
