Golden Ticket, Anyone?

I actually prefer to have my chocolate in moderation (so that I appreciate each piece and don't feel like a fat slob afterwards) but this room would tempt me, big time!

hehehehe... they said, "Chocolate Logs."

For me, this would be like dad making his kid smoke a whole box of cigars to kick the habit...

Total Chick Thing.

Shawn's in touch with his inner-female.

Hm...chocolate...

Well, of course it is a chick thing! That's why the stereotype says that guys are supposed to bring boxes of chocolate!

I know plenty of guys who enjoy chocolate, I'll have you know.

However, I've noticed a corallary stereotype for guys -- of the guys I know, they are much more likely to love ice cream than the gals I know.

Chocolate.

And ice cream. And pizza! And peanut brittle.

Shut UP, Tom.

Something in the coffee/toffee/maple/caramel /butterscotch range of flavors. There's a particular ozone-like flavor component in those that I really like.

A good curry.

I've always preferred dark, more bittersweet chocolate - 60-65% cocoa is ideal. My most frequent complaint on chocolate items - like brownies and fudge - is that they're too sweet and not chocolatey enough. The only flavor enhancers I like with it are not sweet, like nuts, mint or coffee - an espresso truffle or something.

The men in my family much prefer milky, sweet chocolate, with caramel or other sweetness enhancers.

And my youngest son, who must somehow strangely not be related to me, doesn't really like chocolate at all.

"ozone-like" flavor? I don't think I've ever thought about what ozone tastes like.

I wonder if they've done a study on whether men prefer milk chocolate and women dark chocolate?

Jeri,

Try that brownie recipe I posted. They're the most chocolaty brownies ever.

I mean, I think they're 1/2 chocolate.

Hmm... I still have a couple brownies left... (wanders off)

Well, if you've ever smelled it ... it tastes like that. :)

As I understand things, women get a gooshy rushy feeling from chocolate. Men don't. So while men may like the taste, it's not the same as cats with catnip. ;)

I'm eating chocolate cover espresso beans right now.

Boo Yah! (I'm lovin' 'em but not having an transcendent experience.)

Hee! "gooshy," I like that. I'd agree with that description. It's one of the reasons I use chocolate as a form of self-medication. (And as such, have learned how to get maximum value out of it with minimum calories.)

I don't remember what ozone smells like. I'll be thinking about butterscotch and toffee next time I do though.

I like chocolate covered espresso beans, but it's a bit too much coffee for me after about three. My version of mocha would be a hot chocolate with a spoonful of coffee, rather than the other way around.

There is a way to make brownies and other chocolate baked goods even MORE chocolate-y by putting in expresso powder and the very, very dark cocoa, all available on the King Arthur Flour website. Maybe that is why King Arthur was so successful for so long in ancient Britain.....
