Care Package Queen Returns

Back in January, right after I got laid off, the Brilliant Jen A sent me a fabulous care package, pretty much establishing herself as Care Package Queen.
Last week, CPQ struck again. I got the following little care package from the beautiful and mysterious Miss A:

The brownies (with orange extract! Mmmm!) were packaged in a cute little box with a cool paper accent. The mix CD is a lovely selection, including music from: She & Him, Secondhand Serenade, Kelly Bell Band, and Sugarland. No, I did not know who any of those bands (?) were before I got the CD. Also included were chocolates (Bailey's and Lindt Orange), a selection of herbal teas, a CD of photos from her visit in April, and a funny card.
When I called Jen to thank her, she suggested I warm the brownie in the microwave, top it with ice cream and melted Lindt chocolates. That seemed like a good idea:

And it was. Mmmmmm!

THANK YOU, JEN! :)

(I am, of course, plotting my "revenge". Fortunately, since I move a bit slowly, revenge is a dish best served after some time in the fridge. ;)

That is so cool! I would have warmed the brownie up with some of your homemade marshmallows on top. Jen A. Rocks!

Mmmmm . . . Jen A. (the 'A' stands for Awesome!)

The Kelly Bell band is a local MD band! I think they used to play a lot down at St. Mary's.

Awww, Anne! Thanks for the shout-out! I'm so glad you tried the brownie/ice cream/chocolate drizzle idea -- too bad I didn't think to do that myself! Oh darn -- guess I'll have to make more. ;)

I first heard the Kelly Bell Band at the National Harbor during Das Best Oktoberfest last year... grooved to them live so much I bought a few albums on iTunes when I got home.

Sugarland -- one of my favorite country (crossover) bands.

I believe I discovered Secondhand Serenade by liking a song I heard on TV/a commercial and looking it up on Google later that night. She & Him is Zooey Deschanel's band. I loved hearing her sing "Baby It's Cold Outside" in Elf (the movie), and she was also in Yes Man, singing. I looked her up, and discovered that I really liked her album. Very glad you enjoyed the selection of tunes too! *HUG*

Cool! Thanks for the background on the bands. I thought that sounded like Zooey Deschanel. I love her voice and love her singing in Elf.
