Taxman and Catwoman

I realized today that I have been lax in my required posting of cute cat pictures. At left, you'll see my only piece of "cat furniture," a scratching post with a platform on top and a "cave" below. In this picture, Martin is on the top and Matti is tucked into the bottom.

Tonight I did my taxes. Frustratingly, I'm getting back less than I usually do, 'cause I'm making a bit more than last year. On the plus side, I'm making a bit more than last year. ;)

That's a cool kitty condo. I need to get something new for the Crazy Squirrel because we finally removed the gross, ancient bar stool that she has destroyed over the years.

What furniture *isn't* cat furniture?

Your feline overlords are very cute!

Brown tabbies. Yes, I see.

Michelle, any furniture in a room with a closed door. Of course, the door will suffer.

Tom, my cats can open accordion doors, bi-fold doors, and frequently doors I was *certain* were latched.

What I find hilarious is when I catch one of them trying to open the cupboard door behind which their food and toys is hidden. They know that they can press down on it and sometimes get it to bounce out enough that they can get their paws in the crack. (Unfortunately for them, everything in there is in a plastic container, but doesn't stop them from trying.)

Anne, my cats can get the cupboard doors open, too. That was just fine with me, because nothing was messed up, and there's nothing that would harm them there. I come home, the cupboard is open, I close it.

A few weeks ago I found the cupboard open, and an entire roll of paper towels unrolled onto the floor. I think it was Buttercup, becasue as I mentioned she is getting friskier lately.

So now there's a rubber band around the handles to close the door, and a loop of string to restrict how far it will open.

It's a good thing I don't get in there much, because not only is it cat-proof, it's almost Tom-proof as well.

Yeah, one of the boyz went through a short toilet paper unrolling phase, so I turned around the roll so that it wouldn't unroll by pawing it. I'm pretty sure the few times I've left out paper towels, they've torn them up. What is it about rolled paper?
