My Birthday Present... Yessssss... Precious...

I have the bestest mum ever.
I just got an early birthday present from Amazon:
The Lord of the Rings - The Motion Picture Trilogy (Special Extended DVD Edition)
Yay!!!
I had bought all three parts, of course, back when they came out, but they were stolen last summer and I haven't had the funds to replace them. Now I've got them ALL again! Yay! Of course, I'll be watching them this weekend. :)

Man, I just can't even believe how much of your DVD library was stolen. How close are you to replacing it all? Will you even bother to replace some of them?

Well, a couple weeks after the theft, my mum sent me a big package from Amazon. (Described here.) I had made an Amazon list of DVDs I needed to replace. I'd say about 80% of my meager collection was taken. My mum's early gift got me started back on the road to recovery, but the biggest (and most expensive replacements) remained. I haven't had a lot of ready cash, probably due to my recent fascination for clothes, so the going has been slow. The LotR DVDs are a major part of the remaining DVDs. Other big ones that remain are the Star Wars trilogy, the Firefly series, Anne of Green Gables, and my Wallace and Grommit trilogy. This last is an unfortunate loss, since the new one reportedly has different organ music in The Wrong Trousers.
Anyway, enough backstory.
According to Amazon, I still have 10 items left from an original list of 20. It seems to me I had more like 30 stolen, but I really can't remember. I feel like I'm at about 60% through replacing them all.
My replacement program is limited to what I can remember. If I can't remember it, I suppose I didn't like it well enough to replace it. Every once in a while though, I'll remember an additional title I used to have.
It's a bummer, but I try not to think about it.
(And I have to resist the impulse to buy a safe to store the current collection.)
