I think if the same friend(s) forget(s) repetitively, then I think you might need to re-evaluate the "friend" part.Staceyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16984097652321280760noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6889198.post-12995912346038073882007-11-01T07:24:00.000-06:002007-11-01T07:24:00.000-06:00I agree with you both that it is mostly due to wha...I agree with you both that it is mostly due to what's going on with the other person (it HAS happened to me). Doesn't stop me from having an emotional reaction -- it just means I understand where the other person might be coming from.Anne C.https://www.blogger.com/profile/09444051201220766948noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6889198.post-50423121234119924012007-11-01T07:00:00.000-06:002007-11-01T07:00:00.000-06:00That does leave one feeling sad. Sometimes we forget that other people have lives outside our friendship circle. I read an article that says when our minds have reached capacity it starts jettisoning things to make more room. The article said it makes no distinction as to importance or relevance, it just pitches. That's why one can remember lyrics from 20 years ago, but not what your friend told you a few days ago that was important to remember.Staceyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16984097652321280760noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6889198.post-82363951772487790872007-10-31T20:51:00.000-06:002007-10-31T20:51:00.000-06:00So sorry Anne . . . you *are* right, it's bound to...So sorry Anne . . . you *are* right, it's bound to happen sometimes. And it might not be that YOU aren't as interesting or important as you think you are. I might be something that's going on with that person and not about you at all. I know I've forgotten important things where someone else is concerned and it's never because they aren't important to me. I think you'll find that you could say the same. Happens to the best of us!Mummy Grabillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16334034298962491582noreply@blogger.com
